Adopt a Dog or Puppy in Tampa Bay

Please note:  If there is a specific pet you are interested in, check our website before arriving to see if they are currently available. SPCA Tampa Bay has your next dog to adopt in Tampa Bay. Visit our shelter in Largo and adopt a puppy or even an older dog. Why adopt a dog or puppy from SPCA Tampa Bay? Cats and dogs are a great way to help humans relieve stress and anxiety. Plus, they help spread the humanimality.

Do you have a dog at home and need to learn how to introduce your new pup to the household? You can bring your dog to SPCA Tampa Bay for a meet-n-greet and check out our behavior handouts. These handouts will help with your new dog’s transition from our pet shelter in Largo to your forever home.

Potential adopters are encouraged to come to the shelter to meet with the animal of interest. During your visit, you can speak with an adoptions counselor about any questions that you have. You do not need to schedule an appointment, feel free to come anytime during our open adoption hours. Save time when you come and fill out/print your Adoption Information Sheet ahead of your visit. Please bring a leash with a properly fitted collar or harness for dog adoptions. If you do not bring one with you, we have those items for sale as well.
