SPCA Tampa Bay knows that adopting a new dog is just the beginning of your journey together. That's why we strive to give you the support you need by getting you in touch with qualified and compassionate trainers. New Dawn Animal Behavior Center uses training methods based in the science of behavior analysis. New Dawn seeks to create change with our companion animals by focusing on what we want them to do and replacing what behavior we do not like. We want to teach you how to “speak dog,” read and understand your dog and resolve problems while enhancing the bond.

Private Sessions

Need less distraction? Find private sessions for you and your dog both on location for $90 and at your home for $105. Get started here.

Puppy Pre-School

Puppy Pre-School is an important part of socialization and helping your new puppy gain confidence and learn new skills. Training your puppy at an early age, and including everyone in the family, is a key component to building your relationship with your dog.

This six-week session is open to all puppies up to 6 months of age (Please contact us if your puppy is more than 6 months of age). This class includes: housetraining information, socialization chewing and mouthing, greetings, walking on leash, coming when called, problem solving and the AKC Puppy STAR Evaluation. There are plenty of opportunities to get your questions answered

Basic Manners (The Power Of Positive)

One six-week session introduces clicker training, self control, cues and more to enhance the bond between you and your dog. Get started here.

Intermediate Manners

Four week session develops the skills you learned in Basic Manners. We begin to introduce training exercises that are more challenging and useful in the real world, as well as reinforcing reliability in our pups. To get started click here.

Advanced Manners (Both Ends Of The Leash)

Seven-week session on advanced skills for dogs and handlers. Proof all behaviors and help dogs generalize information. Includes the AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluation. Get started here.

Nose Work for Dogs

New, exciting, urban dog sport designed to develop dogs’ natural scenting abilities by using their curiosity, and their love of toys, food, and exercise. Get started here.
